Dear, Praying and Supporting Friends
Greetings from our family to you, we pray that this letter finds you in the center of Gods will and his blessings are upon you.
Good News, Good News we have just returned from a month in Malawi Africa. God has blessed us so much while we were on this trip. We were able to be part of 1,675 souls saved, and 11,000 tracts distributed in the cities and countryside and villages
We also taught a session of True Love Waits and 40 children signed commitment cards agreeing to stay pure until they are married. What a blessing this is with the death rate from AIDS being 15% of all adults and 14,000 children dying every year.
Many things were accomplished in the month including: the purchase of educational supplies, curriculum, student books, paper, pens, also 848 bibles were purchased to distribute to churches and to the orphans who do not have one. We were able to visit 2 hospitals and meet the technician who does the HIV testing and other medical needs for the orphanage. The clinic at the orphanage is operational now thanks to the many donations of time and supplies from Christians who helped in this area. There is still a need for medical minded people to come to the Children’s home and use their skills to assist the children.
We were able to purchase the food and cook an American meal for the children. We had assistance from the Malawian cooks and when everyone finished eating they really liked the food. We need a commercial stove, and ovens so we can bake bread, and sinks so we can wash dishes properly.
While we were there we were able to lead three Moslem men to Christ, one of which was a very prominent man in the Mosk his name is Ben. In the month that he has been a Christian he has suffered intense persecution, including having his 5 year old daughter Maria, beaten and put in the hospital. Please pray for this new Christian family.
As reported in March of this year a second orphanage is in the land buying stage. There is a bid on 420 acres and while we were there it was discovered that the bid was not high enough. We made some phone calls to the states and requested prayers for this issue. Within five hours we received a call back saying that another 10,000 dollars had been promised to increase the bid. What a testimony to the Lord that an answer would come that swiftly, this really proves that God is working in this small country. Yet with all of the blessing we have seen going on in this country we still have much need.
One of our needs is to find sponsorship for an orphan. There are 27 orphans who do not have sponsors yet. $50.00 a month will take care of the needs of one orphan what a great project for a Sunday school class. The showing of the Jesus film costs $50.00 that takes care of the gas for the generators, vehicles to haul the equipment and the many other things that go into putting on this production. What a huge outreach and salvation tool. When this film is shown many hundreds of people are saved.
This trip to Malawi just reinforced what God has already told us, that we need to get there as soon as possible. Souls are lost and many can be saved if there are people to go.
Please pray for our family as we continue deputation, we need many churches to support us so we can go and work for the Cause of Christ. Pray for the needs of the Malawians, and the children at the orphanage.
We thank you for all you have done for us and the support you give. May God greatly bless you and your ministry.

Dear Pastors,
In July of this year, Tammy and I took a short term missions trip to Malawi, Africa. This was my second trip and Tammy’ first. While there, we worked with Veteran Missionary Gardiner Gentry. During the month, many opportunities to further the gospel were presented. We worked in the orphanage and taught in the colleges. What a privilege it was to see many souls come to Christ. In that month, a total of 1,675 souls were saved.
During this time in Malawi, the Holy Spirit has shown us the urgency of our being on the field as soon as possible. The people of Malawi desperately need something to believe in and if the Good News is not presented then other cults will step in and steal their souls. Brother Gentry has been very encouraging and believes, as we do, that there is a place for us in Malawi.
Our goals are to 1. Train national pastors and Christian workers in soul winning and church planting. 2. Teach the national pastors the fundamentals in Baptist Doctrine. 3. Purchase a site for a 500 bed orphanage. 4. Participate in distributing the Gospel and doing personal Soul Winning “on the field.”
Tammy and I and our boys were all saved at West Hill Baptist Church where we are all active members. Tammy and I enjoy co-leading our Kids Club on Wednesday nights, and participating in the Soul Winning Program . We have been trained to teach a discipleship course. and are faithful choir members and I am also an Usher and Greeter. West Hill Baptist Church in Hillsborough, NC, will be our sending church.
We are currently on deputation and believe it is the Lord’s will for us to go to the field as soon as possible. Would you prayerfully consider having us present our burden to your church at a time of your convenience?
